UNDERSTANDING THE APPRENTICESHIP LEVY

Apprenticeship Levy is an amount paid at a rate of 0.5% of an employer’s annual pay bill.

As an employer, you must pay Apprenticeship Levy each month if you:

Have an annual pay bill of more than £3 million
Are connected to any companies or charities for Employment Allowance purposes and have a combined annual pay bill of more than £3 million

GETTING SET UP TO FUND YOUR LEARNING

DIGITAL APPRENTICESHIP SYSTEM (DAS)

If your organisation is a Levy payer you should already have an account set up, this is known as your Digital Apprenticeship System (DAS) and is often looked after by someone within Finance. Read more here

NON-LEVY
PAYERS

If you are not a Levy payer, you can still access government funding to fund apprenticeships.

The government will fund 95% of programme costs for up to 10 learners per year.
