TRAINEESHIPS

We have developed a 6-week traineeship, specifically catering for Academy players who are set for release from their club. This will be preceded with 2 weeks of employability sessions whilst still at the club, to provide some additional support to help prepare them for their next steps, whether this is in or out of the game.

WHAT IS A
TRAINEESHIP?

A traineeship is a course with work experience that prepares released players for new careers or an apprenticeship.
It can carry accreditations dependent on the player’s industry preference and has custom employability, work-readiness and emotional intelligence training in built.
Each player also receives bespoke coaching and mentoring.

WHAT WILL A TRAINEESHIP PROVIDE?

Help with getting work, such as writing a CV and finding a job
A work placement of 70 hours or more
Help with the skills players need for an apprenticeship or job in the area they want to work in
Practice job interview or feedback from an employer
Help with English, maths and basic digital skills (if needed)

WHAT RESOURCES ARE AVAILABLE?

Engagement with experts to provide careers guidance, coaching and recruitment services
Access to our online community platform, which includes a range of resources to support with careers guidance, employability and corporate readiness
Interaction with a network of businesses who are keen to work with athletes coming out of the game
